Lodge description
Posada de la Laguna was constructed in 1997. It is situated on four lush acres of native vegetation. The trees and flowering bushes on the property provide beauty for the guests as well as the perfect habitat for many varieties of birds.
The owner Elsa Guiraldes designed the building in “Correntino Style”, which is typical of the region. The buildings were hand stuccoed to give an “old world” feel, and are detailed with unique wood windows and shutters, beautiful tile floors, and brick patios which complete this style.
The lodge consists of two buildings which house the guest rooms and the dining area. The main building’s living area is anchored by a large fireplace that provides a cozy environment in which to read, meditate or enjoy conversation. On the other side of the building is the dining area which looks out onto the swimming pool and ramada. In between these two areas is a free standing bar. The vine covered patios surrounding the building is the perfect setting for viewing the beautiful lagoon and enjoying morning coffee or afternoon tea.
A short walk from the main building is the building housing the six guest rooms. This building also has a covered patio on either side of it., The separate quest rooms open out onto the patio where there are tables and chairs for relaxing, as well as hammocks strung between the hand carved wood poles. Each room has its own private hath and has been decorated meticulously with comfortable bedding, unique regional touches, antique furniture, and original art by the owner.
